PUBLICATIONS & PRESS

This page brings together my recent and upcoming contributions to news, media and professional platforms. My work focuses on men’s mental health, emotional wellbeing, grief and bereavement, and the experiences of neurodivergent men – themes that sit at the heart of my counselling practice here in Manchester.

Much of my writing explores how men make sense of pressure, identity and connection, and how Manchester’s culture of resilience, honesty and humour shapes those experiences. I aim to offer grounded, accessible commentary that reflects the realities many men face today, both locally and beyond.

If you have thoughts, questions, or would like to discuss an idea for collaboration, media enquiries or future writing, I’d be glad to hear from you. You can reach me any time through the contact form below.

Harmonia Careers: Featured Writing

I’m proud to contribute regularly to Harmonia Careers, where I explore the emotional landscapes that shape so many people’s lives. My writing covers a wide range of themes, including men’s mental health, grief and loss, neurodiversity, identity, the realities of counselling training, and what it truly means to grow as a practitioner.
These articles bring together therapeutic insight, personal reflection and lived experience, offering an honest look at the challenges men face, the pressure to “hold it together”, and the quieter moments that often change us the most.

Alongside my published articles, much of my work happens in ongoing conversations — through my LinkedIn writing and my newsletter, The Quiet Room. These pieces explore the emotional realities men face today: grief, masculinity, belonging, neurodivergence, connection, silence, pressure and the strain so many carry quietly. I write about the lives of men and boys in Manchester and beyond, drawing on research, lived experience and my therapeutic work to give voice to the things many struggle to say out loud.

Topics I regularly explore include:

  • What young men really think about women and masculinity

  • How grief shows up in everyday life

  • Silence, shame and the hidden emotional world of men

  • Neurodivergent experiences of overwhelm, masking and identity

  • How connection protects mental health

  • Why listening changes everything

These reflections have sparked wide engagement across Manchester and the UK, inviting honest conversations about men’s wellbeing, vulnerability and resilience.

My work with AMPARO

Alongside my private practice, I work part time with AMPARO, a specialist service that supports people who have been bereaved by suicide.

AMPARO offers practical and emotional support to individuals and families after a suicide death. This includes help with navigating the police and coroner processes, support around inquests and paperwork, and space to talk through the emotional impact of what has happened. The service is there to walk alongside people at a time when life can feel disorientating, frightening, and painfully uncertain.

My role within AMPARO is to offer steady, relational support to people in the weeks and months after a loss. That might involve listening to what feels too hard to say elsewhere, helping someone make sense of the emotions they are carrying, or supporting them as they move through unfamiliar systems and decisions. It is work that asks for patience, care, and a deeply human presence, and it continues to shape how I understand grief, connection, and resilience.
