Many of the men I support come feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly carrying too much on their own for too long.

I offer online and in person counselling for men and fathers across Manchester and the UK, creating a space to pause, reconnect, and move forward at your own pace, with warmth, honesty, and respect.

You do not need to be in crisis to begin. If something feels off, that is enough.

Counselling in Manchester for Men and Fathers

I’m really glad you’re here. Visiting a counselling website often means something isn’t sitting right, a worry, a pressure, or a feeling you’ve been carrying on your own for too long.

I work primarily with men and fathers who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure what they need, only knowing that something has to change. This may relate to stress, relationships, grief, work pressure, burnout, or simply the weight of everyday life.

My name is Stuart Walker. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Manchester, offering a warm, practical, and down-to-earth space to talk honestly, make sense of what’s been building up, and begin moving forward.

I offer support for men experiencing stress, anxiety, grief, burnout, and bereavement, as well as fathers navigating pressure, responsibility, and emotional exhaustion. Sessions are available both online across the UK and in person in Manchester, depending on what works best for you.

Therapy can help you better understand patterns, feel more grounded, and create meaningful long-term change rather than short-term survival. If cost is a concern, a limited number of reduced-cost sessions are also available.

If something here reflects how you’ve been feeling, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You do not need a clear plan or the right words to begin.

A Different Way of Working

Some people come to therapy wanting to explore things more deeply. Patterns that keep repeating. Old wounds. The parts of life that don’t quite make sense yet. This work is about slowing down, reflecting, and understanding yourself in a way that supports lasting change.

I specialise in three areas that often overlap in real life:

  • Men’s mental health and fatherhood, especially when you feel you’re carrying too much quietly or trying to stay steady for everyone else.

  • Grief, loss, and bereavement, including losses that are not always recognised or spoken about, and the ways grief can shape how you move through the world.

  • Neurodivergence and burnout, particularly when you’ve spent a long time adapting, masking, or pushing yourself to fit.

This is not quick-fix work. It is thoughtful, grounded, and paced in a way that feels safe and respectful. Learn more

WHY NEURODIVERGENT MEN AND FATHERS SEEK THERAPY

Many neurodivergent men and fathers come to therapy because they are tired.

Tired of masking.
Tired of trying to meet expectations that do not quite fit.
Tired of managing overload, misunderstanding, or feeling slightly out of step with the world around them.

You might be dealing with:

  • burnout or shutdown

  • sensory overwhelm

  • anxiety or low mood

  • difficulties in relationships or communication

  • feeling misunderstood, unseen, or “too much”

  • guilt about not coping in the ways you feel you should

  • the pressure of being a partner or parent while already stretched

Therapy becomes a place to pause and ask, not “what is wrong with me?” but “what do I need?”
